The Playoffs Are Finally Here!

The NBA playoffs are finally here! After a season of ups and downs, the big show has arisen, and playoff fever is more prominent than ever.
This year's playoffs have given way to a host of new talent, among all of the classics. Once again the Lakers have found their way back to the playoffs, looking to avenge last years loss to the Spurs. These two teams could find each other once again on the road to the finals. The Nets are also back in the mix of things, despite a rocky season. The Kings are looking tough, led by the outstanding play of Chris Webber, and The Mavs are definitely still contenders.
But I cannot forget to mention the Timberwolves, headed by Kevin Garnett -- they will definitely make their presence known. Some surprises have also made their way into the playoffs, such as the Memphis Grizzlies and the Detroit Pistons.
Looking at the match-ups, this year's playoffs are going to be exciting. Once again, both the Spurs and the Lakers are going to be tough in the Western Conference, while in the Eastern Conference, the Pacers and the Pistons look formidable.
Going out on a limb, I am going to predict that the Mavericks take the Western Conference, but not after a rough road. The Mavericks have consistently been playoff contenders, and this year could finally be the year of the Maverick. In the Eastern Conference, I am going to take the Pacers to meet the Mavericks in the Finals. The Pacers have the guards, and if their inside game steps up, they will be hard to match up with. Reggie Miller has had an outstanding year, and it could finally be his time. However, only after a long series against the Pistons.
The finals will see one of the great match-ups with the Mavericks and Pacers, but the Mavericks will be too powerful for the Pacers to stop. The Mavericks will defeat the Pacers in game seven of the NBA Finals.
