Did you know that WNMU wants to give current students first choice of classes and meeting times? Check this out: Spring 2005 semester pre-registration for returning students begins November 8th. Registration for new, transfer, and readmitted students begins on November 22nd. To facilitate registration and advising the electronic schedule will be posted November 5th on the WNMU home page and a paper schedule will be available on November 12th. Take the following steps to make your pre-registration productive and efficient.
Update student personal information.
Current primary and secondary addresses facilitate WNMU Business office, Registrar and Academic Support Center communication with you. Take the following steps to check your personal information: Open Mustang Express, click on School Services. Select Personal Information. Under Personal Information you can view your address and phone numbers, local (physical) and permanent. Also, you can designate a primary and secondary email address, as well as update emergency contact information.
Check for "holds" and resolve them.
Holds prevent online Web Registration. Holds are on the same menu as Personal Information and Transcripts. Compass, Declaration of Major, Suspension or Registrar Holds must be taken care of before you can pre-register.
For Compass and Declaration of Major holds contact the Academic Support Center in the Juan Chacon Building (538-6400). For Suspension and Registrar holds see the Registrar in Castorena Hall (538-6118). Remember undergraduate students are required to declare a major no later than the semester in which they complete 48 credit hours.
How could a student have a Compass Hold if he or she is already taking classes at WNMU? Non-degree students taking less than nine hours can be exempt or some concurrent students (enrolled in High School and WNMU courses at the same time) may have been exempted from Compass. However, if one of these students decides to seek a degree or certificate at WNMU they may be required to take the Compass test.
