We would like to take this opportunity to thank all students, staff, faculty, and alumni who supported the nomination of our son, Tom McDonald, in the recent naming of the Student Memorial Building. You will never know how much your support has meant to our family. We are honored to know that Tom is remembered at WNMU with affection and appreciation.
Tom's years at WNMU were some of the happiest years in his life. He was mentored and taught by some wonderful people while he attended Western. He made many lasting friendships there. He learned at, enjoyed and yes, served Western well. To learn that service has been worthy of such a significant honor is a true comfort to us. We will always remember your kindness in supporting hit cause.
One of Tom's best qualities was his ability to work together with and for all students. We hope the naming of the building will be a reflection of and a continuation of his goals. We hope, further, that naming the building for a WNMU student will serve as encouragement to all students to become involved in service to WNMU, the community and to New Mexico.
